Vision   Christ in us, Christ through us

Mission: South Fork Church of Christ exists to proclaim the gospel of Christ and make more and growing disciples of Christ.

Beliefs:

We believe that:

▪ The Bible is God’s inspired written revelation of himself and his purpose for all his creation (Psalm 119; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21). ▪ The God of the Bible exists as Father, Son, and Spirit. He is infinite, eternal, unchangeable, allknowing, all-powerful, ever-present, the authority over all existence, and is completely holy (Genesis 1:26; Leviticus 11:44-45; Romans 11:33-36; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; Revelation 4). o As father, God is the source and sustainer of all that exists and desires communion with all people (Genesis 1-2; Deuteronomy 7:7-9; Acts 17:24-28). o As son, Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, is the only means to have fellowship with God and the hope of eternal life through his death and resurrection (John 3:16-18; 19-20; Romans 3:21-26; 1 Corinthians 15; Ephesians 2:1-10; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-23). o As spirit, the Holy Spirit, given to all Christians, empowers us for holiness and equips us for service (John 14:15-27; 16:5-15; Acts 2:1-4; Romans 8:1-27; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2). ▪ Sin is any word, thought or deed that is disobedient to God’s holy nature or falls short of his expectations. Everyone has sinned and needs to be reconciled to God (Genesis 3; Romans 1:18-3:20, 23; Ephesians 2:1-3) ▪ Salvation is God’s initiative to restore fellowship with all people. It is a gift from God, freely available to all who believe Jesus is the only way to God and acknowledge him as Master. Everyone who accepts God’s offer of salvation must respond through belief, confession, repentance, and baptism for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (John 3:16-18; Acts 2:37-39; 4:12; Romans 3:21-26; 6:1-7; 10:9-10; Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 2:1-10; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:18-22). ▪ The Church is globally, the living Body of Jesus Christ made up of those around the world who have been redeemed by Christ and continue Christ’s ministry on earth and locally, the community of believers which is essential to the full expression of each Christian’s faith (Acts 2; Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31a; Ephesians 5:22-32; Hebrews 10:25; 1 Peter 2:9-10; Revelation 19:6-9; 21:1-4). ▪ Jesus will return to earth at any time to fully restore God’s kingdom, to judge non believers and to reward his disciples (Matthew 24:36-51; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Peter 3:3-10; Revelation 7:9-17; 11:15-19; 14:14-20; 16:17-21; 19:11-21; 20:11-22:16).
